We take the band name, The Pink Roses, from "The White Rose" -- a non-violent, German university, student-led resistance group that called for active opposition to the Nazi regime. Their activities started in World War 2; many were imprisoned and some sentenced to death. .

Today in the Western world, many individuals are experiencing suffering, simply by standing up to voice opposition to an increasingly postmodern culture: college campuses, pregnancy centers, churches and synagogues have been vandalized.  Parents voicing their concerns to school boards have been targeted by the authorities.  Learned individuals who have shared their educated opinions on social media on the important issues of the day -- have been deplatromed, their careers threatened, their livelihoods interrupted.  Followers of the Judeo-Christian faith have been instructed to quiet their voices and hide their identities, for fear of violence and reprisals. Some have even been arrested for silent prayer.

Our songs emanate and flow from a Christian worldview by "singing truth to power" -- resisting, challenging and attempting to influence the postmodern culture with love and hope -- while at the same time providing encouragement and support to the Faithful.  We, The Pink Roses, hope you find at least two or three songs you like. Then share them with a friend -- and keep listening!

“Let me make the songs of a nation and I care not who makes its laws”  (eighteenth-century Scottish writer, politician and patriot ~ Andrew Fletcher)

Donald Dreigh

I’m a serial songwriter and have been writing “the world’s greatest mediocre songs” off and on for decades. Semi-critical noticeability and acclaim was achieved via several albums our band, The Empire Towers, released twenty years or so ago … where several of those songs medaled in the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest. Fast forward to turning 60 (yes — I am an old fart) and realizing that I have more yesterdays than tomorrows … I am writing a song a week and releasing a record a year until I die. The world is changing quickly and in a lot of ways not for the better. I trust these songs begin to give you a little bit of hope in this increasingly postmodern world.
