The Pink Roses
The Pink Roses take their name from The White Rose -- the student‑led, non‑violent resistance group that opposed the Nazi regime during WW2 -- through truth‑telling and moral courage. Their legacy of principled resistance resonates in a world where cultural pressures extract a cost for standing firm. We strive to embody that same spirit—consistent, resolute, unwavering -- and anchored in Truth.
Rooted in a distinctly Christian worldview, the band writes and sings at a time when people of faith are often pressured to stay silent —and penalized for holding biblical convictions. The Pink Roses aim to "sing truth to power" -- with clarity, contest, love, and hope.
Musically, the band blends alternative and classic rock influences -- with profoundly original and unconventional lyrics, born of experience and wisdom. The songs are crafted and delivered to challenge the cultural status quo and encourage those who have become sidelined.

I wasn't expecting this unlikely journey after turning sixty (yes, I am an old fart :-) But somewhere between asking myself what I wanted to do with the last lap of my life—and wondering how the world changed so quickly and not always for the better—I was left with this question: If we are being taught that 'living your own truth' is such a good thing, then why is the world in such a hot mess?
So, I decided to write a song a week and make a record a year until I die. Timeless truths for a world that has lost its way.
There is a sense of urgency and a growing freedom to say what I believe needs to be said. The music reflects a wisdom and confidence that explores faith, doubt, resilience, and the strange desperation of a rapidly changing world. If these songs show any fingerprints, I pray they are the fingerprints of the Artist who shapes me, filtered through a voice that only comes from the bumps and bruises of life.

Husband, father, drummer. Saved by the grace of God. Nate’s drumming versatility is displayed on countless recordings ranging from pop, rock, and country -- to punk, R&B and Gospel Soul. His illustrious career has allowed him to share the stage with The Black Crowes, Cracker, The Dave Matthews Band, Janet Jackson and John Mayer. He co-wrote the hit song “Hooch” which was featured in Adam Sandler’s movie “The Waterboy.” Nate continues to write, arrange, record and perform music with passion and wonder, giving God all the glory for the gift of a musical life.
Nate Brown | Drums
He grew up in an extraordinarily talented musical family. Andrew has done stuidio work, session work, production work, even wrote and arranged for a high school drumline. Making a living in music today as a worship pastor.
Andrew Cain | Keyboards
An internationally published songwriter, music producer, engineer, and multi-instrumentalist. A Berklee College of Music alumnus, he has built three landmark projects — 90s funk-rock band Egypt, modern rock act Earth to Andy (Warner/Giant Records), and retro soul ensemble Killer Deluxe — while co-writing songs charting for Daughtry, Scott Stapp, David Cook, and more. Today, Andy orchestrates his own full-service facility, Union Hill Recording, in Amherst, VA.
Andy Walnack | Bass
Born into a musical family and raised in an environment filled with talent, passion, and faith -- music is her language. She plays piano, guitar, organ, and bass guitar -- leads church choirs (as well as a professional traveling choir back in the day) -- while writing songs and creating vocal and instrumental arrangements. Above all, Melody is most proud to be the mother and friend of four beautiful people: Tim, David, Allison, and Andrew.
Melody Wicker | Piano
He got his first guitar during his second trimester at college and has been playing ever since. Has studied rock, classical, and flamenco styles, and over the years -- performing both solo and with rock and metal bands. Although sometimes referred to as "Guitar George," he admits he does not know all the chords.
Georg Knoll | Guitar
With a background in media and communication design, she worked across different studios before creating her own project focused on visual design for artists. She has been part of the band’s journey since its earliest days -- growing alongside the project.
To this day, she approaches each project with the same excitement she felt in the beginning -- driven by instinct, emotion, and a deep connection to music.
